Process

With this dust jacket concept, I especially wanted to highlight the differences between our two main characters, Drake (right/front cover) and Hyakinthos (left/back cover). The primary way that I went about doing so was by depicting two different times of day: here Drake is shown surrounded by the oppressive gloom and shadows of nighttime, while Hyakinthos strolls through a glistening rose garden and cloudscape at dawn. Roses and hyacinths also feature prominently across the dust jacket side-flaps, symbolically representing each opposing character.
